The difference only occurs when setting General Midi mode.
Then the drum track 10 automatically is set to Dr1 (instead of Piano)
and the song ignores all program changes on this channel.
I read this in the i3 user manual in a short chapter about Midi
and in reference manual (at end) where the midi codes are documented.
